DOG DAYS OF JUNE

Here we are in the middle of June and the temperature today will reach into the mid 90's in Bloomsburg.

This is the time of the year in the sports information office when we start to put into place all the things we will need for the coming year.

A big part of our focus this coming year is on social media. How can we engage more of you via Twitter, Facebook and the many other avenues out there. Recently we added a text message service to our offerings giving you another easy way to follow the Huskies.

If you have not yet signed up for any of our services take some time now to go visit our social media page at www.buhuskies.com/socialmedia and sign up. It is quick, easy and best of all, free.

Among the other things going on this summer are our summer camps. There is still time to sign up for one of our great camps. Just visit our camp web page for more information.

We are starting to post 2012 fall schedules right now. We have updated the look of our schedule pages. We hope you like the new look. Leave us some feedback and let us know your thoughts.

That's it for this week. Check back next week for another posting on what is going on with BU Athletics...from the sports information side.

We'll Be Coming Back

Written by Bloomsburg Sports Info on 11:09 AM

Some time ago when the sports information office had our old web site...bloomu.edu/sports we used this blog site as a great way to keep people up to date on a daily basis. This was before Facebook became as popular as it is now and certainly well before Twitter was in existence. But it seems there is still a need to contact on a more "personal" level and that's where we hope this revised blog will do the trick. For the summer months we'll post some content and then hope to make a bigger impact in the fall with more regular postings. As in the past we encourage you to interact with us and let us know what kind of content will interest you the most. Until then have a great summer and be sure to check back in with us.

It's Raining Again

Written by Bloomsburg Sports Info on 12:25 PM

Here is the Huskies Update for Friday, Oct. 23.

It's raining again in Bloomsburg with more scheduled for tomorrow. That's two weeks in a row we will have had bad weather for a home football game.

FOOTBALL
The Huskies game with Shippensburg is set for 2:35 p.m.. A few people have been wondering today if the game could be moved. That rarely happens at the collegiate level and with it being Parent's Weekend there are a lot of things that can't be moved. Bring a poncho and be ready to get a little wet! If you can't make it to the game view the live stats at this page.

SOCCER
The men's and women's soccer teams will be in action tomorrow hosting Shippensburg. The women start at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m. The men can clinch a playoff berth with a win, while the women can inch a bit closer to a playoff berth (I was a bit premature on giving them a playoff spot in yesterday's post.)

FIELD HOCKEY
The Huskies are taking on Millersville today at 3:30 p.m. The Huskies have wrapped up the top seed in the PSAC East for next week's PSAC playoffs. Bloomsburg will play at Mercyhurst on Sunday at 11 a.m.

SWIMMING
Bloomsburg will swim at Albright College tomorrow starting at 1 p.m. Results will be available on the Huskies web site tomorrow night.

VOTE DANNY HALE
I hope you are voting for Danny Hale each day in the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year program. Go to the voting page to cast your ballot for Danny Hale!

Stay dry and GO HUSKIES!
