A daily look at the Bloomsburg University Athletic teams.

Monday...Looking Back at the Weekend

Written by Bloomsburg Sports Info on 12:07 PM

A rare treat that I get to update the blog on a Monday...

Last weekend was a good one for the Huskies. On Friday the Huskies cross country teams took part in the Penn State Invitational meet. On Saturday BU football made it 13 straight going back to last year with a win over Cheyney. The field hockey team won on both Saturday and Sunday and are now 17-1 for the season. The men's soccer team won its 7th game of the season in 2 OT's, while the women's soccer also went 2 OT's to win on Saturday. The men's and women's swim teams also opened their seasons on Saturday by taking first place at the BU Relays. The Huskies are coached by former BU great Stu Marvin.

Things are quiet today for the Huskies.

The win on Saturday in field hockey clinched the PSAC East title for the Huskies. Bloomsburg will now host the PSAC championship on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Start times on Friday will be noon and 2:30 p.m. with the championship game at Bloomsburg at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Pairings will be announced later.

Vote Danny Hale in the Coach of Year program. Danny is sixth right now in the balloting.

A few things to mark down...Homecoming on Nov. 1st with West Chester. Kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m. It's a Gold Rush that day so be sure to wear gold. Buy a commerative gold rush t-shirt from the University store. You can see what the shirt looks like here to the left.

Another example of Huskies pride is on display...this time in Lawrence, Kansas! Bill Patt, class of 1979 with this photo of a BU flag flying on his home. If you are Husky Proud send me an example for the blog and I'll post it.

Be Husky Proud!...Support BU athletics both financially and with your attendance at a sporting event.
