A daily look at the Bloomsburg University Athletic teams.

Tuesday In the Fall

Written by Bloomsburg Sports Info on 10:22 AM

It's Tuesday afternoon again...

A look back at the weekend (briefly)...Football and women's soccer won; the men's soccer team came up short; the cross country had a decent race at Slippery Rock and the men's tennis team sent a few players to the semi-finals of the ITA regionals. Overall, a decent weekend for the Huskies.

Today the women's soccer team hosts Mansfield at 5:30 p.m. at Sports Stadium, while the men will host Holy Family in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m.

Rankings are out today and the field hockey team stays at number two in the nation. The Huskies host East Stroudsburg tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at Sports Stadium.

The football team is ranked number one in the NCAA D-II Super Region One (the NCAA dropped geographical names for each region). The top six teams in each region at the end of the season advance to the NCAA playoffs. The Huskies are also ranked number six in the American Football Coaches Association poll and number seven by d2football.com.

Don't forget to vote Danny Hale in the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year program. There is a link to the left of this posting. Let's get Danny up to number one.

This weekend is fall break here at Bloomsburg. We need everyone to come out and support the Huskies in what is going to be a huge game with East Stroudsburg. Kickoff is set for noon. All military personnel and their families will be admitted free to the game. We're asking all fans to bring some items for our troops serving oversees. you can bring snacks, toiletries, phone cards, etc.

Homecoming is not too far off. Make plans to attend the football game with West Chester. We're planning a Gold Rush. More details next week.

That's all for now...remember BE HUSKY PROUD. Support your team both financially and with your attendance at a game!!
