Here is the Huskies Update for Thursday, May 14.

Well...it's a wrap on the 2008-09 sports season at Bloomsburg University. The men's and women's tennis teams both dropped their quarterfinal matches on Wednesday at the NCAA D-II championships in Florida. The men lost to Concordia 5-0 and the women lost to #2 ranked Lynn 5-0. Overall, a very successful season for both teams. Those were the final teams still playing for Bloomsburg. Now we can start to look ahead to the 2009-10 season!

Congrats to Kevin Ward and Tony Donofry on being named second team All-PSAC East in baseball. A story is on the web site about these guys being honored.

The Daktronics All-Atlantic Region team was announced yesterday and Shavaun Fisher was named first team pitcher and Tara Reed first team utility. A story will be posted on line later today.

Congrats to Laura Sullivan from women's tennis named the Atlantic Region Arthur Ashe Award winner by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The ITA/Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship recognizes outstanding individuals in all divisions at the regional and national level. It is awarded to students-athletes who exhibit exceptional sportsmanship and leadership on the court, as well as scholastic, extracurricular, and tennis achievements.

The Huskies Update Daily Blog won't be daily in the summer, but we'll have periodic updates throughout the summer. Be sure to check back here to see what's new with the Huskies.
