Another Hot One in Bloomsburg
Written by Bloomsburg Sports Info on 11:39 AM
Here is the Huskies Update for Monday, April 27th.
It's Monday afternoon and its another scorcher here in Bloomsburg. Roongo is really sweating! Of course, the alternative is that it could be freezing so I'll take being hot over being cold any day.
SOFTBALL
The Huskies battled back from the brink of elimination to win the opening round of the PSAC softball championships on Saturday. The Huskies had to win three games (including two over the host school Cal) to advance. Bloomsburg will face Kutztown on Sunday, May 3 at Lock Haven starting at 1 p.m. The winner of that game faces Lock Haven for the PSAC title immediately afterwards.
BASEBALL
The Huskies ended on a positive note taking three of four from IUP over the weekend. Kevin Ward had a big weekend for the Huskies hitting .533 for the series. BU ends the season at 17-29.
TENNIS
The BU men and women lost in the PSAC title matches on Saturday. The women lost to Cal and the men to Kutztown. The selections for the NCAA championships will be announced later this week.
LACROSSE
The Huskies lost in the PSAC semi-finals by a score of 21-11 to Lock Haven. The Huskies end at 12-6.
TRACK AND FIELD
Bobby Furman and Katie Meck each won an event to lead the Huskies at the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash Open on Saturday.
THIS WEEK
It's a quiet ahead for the Huskies as things start to wrap up for the year. Of course, check out the web and our Twitter site for up to the minute news on the Huskies.
