Another good weekend

Here is the Huskies Update for Monday, Sept. 28th.

Well...here it is a Monday. Time to recap another pretty good weekend for the Huskies.

The Huskies beat CW Post 28-14 on Saturday. Derrick Price rushed for 185 yards and three TD's and Anthony Smith made 19 tackles to lead the defense. Bloomsburg is now 5-0 and stays at number four in the country in the latest coaches poll. Bloomsburg plays Millersville at 5 p.m. this Saturday.

Erin Hench scored twice to lead the Huskies past Millersville, 3-0. Bloomsburg is 9-1 and hosts Shippensburg tomorrow at 4 p.m. in a key matchup.

The Huskies played to a 2-2 tie with Edinboro. The Huskies Kelly Modes scored both goals for BU which goes to 3-4-2 on the year.

Bloomsburg lost at Cal 2-0 on Saturday. The Huskies are now 4-2-2 on the year.

The Huskies are taking part in the ITA Atlantic Regionals. The tournament has been delayed by rain off and on for the last two days. Hopefully we'll have some final results tomorrow.

For the third time in five weeks Anthony Smith was named the PSAC Defensive Player of the Week. Smith had 19 tackles against CW Post.

In women's soccer Kelly Modes was named the PSAC East Co-Player of the Week. We just posted a story about her award so check it out here.

Danny Hale has climbed back into fifth place for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year award. Did you vote today? If not, come on. Danny needs your vote. Go to the Coach of the Year site to vote.

The BU Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner is coming up this Friday...Some folks wondering why a 5 p.m. start in football. Well, the cross country teams are hosting a big high school invitational here on Saturday with about 900 runners expected. Parking would be tight for an early afternoon kickoff. Things will be cleared out by 3 p.m.
